The Eye of the Beholder…

That’s the great thing about art. It can mean anything to anybody. An image that resonates with one, may not with another.
It is for the “beholder” to decide what works for them.

The following photographic Galleries are a representation of my visual style. How I see people, places, and things in the crazy, chaotic, and beautiful world we all share.

A Colorado Tribute to Classic Hollywood

We truly are experiencing an Indie film renaissance here in Colorado, from Denver to Colorado Springs and beyond. I wanted to do a photo project that would celebrate the growing Colorado Independent Film Community. So what better way to do this than to work with all of the talented Colorado –based actors who are appearing in all of these locally produced short and feature films. They represent our own version of Hollywood along the Front Range.

What is Visual Style?

In the visual arts, style is a "...distinctive manner which permits the grouping of works into related categories” or "...any distinctive, and therefore recognizable, way in which an act is performed or an artifact made or ought to be performed and made." It refers to the visual appearance of a work of art that relates it to other works by the same artist or one from the same period, training, location, and "school":

"The notion of style has long been the art historian's principal mode of classifying works of art. By style, he selects and shapes the history of art".

I have had many artistic influences over the years that have helped me
define my visual style. I am grateful to all of them.

A personal dedication to John Zelenak who we all lovingly call Zee.
Teacher… Mentor… Friend.
I am where I want to be… thanks to you.
